IEEE SB RIT was the first IEEE SB in Kerala to start a computer society chapter. It has since been very active and has conducted a large number of workshops and conferences and it strives to set higher standards for computing. The team is planning to conduct weekly sessions on introduction to programming languages( C, C++, Python, Java), web designing, app development etc. This year Computer Society introduces Code Colosseum an online coding competition for its members to sharpen their problem solving and coding skills. Computer Society provides its members a platform to study and improve their technical skills through weekly tasks and competitions. IEEE RIT SBC Computer Society also encourages the development of college computing curriculam and plays a remarkable role in the technical development of RIT's students.

As the first episode of E-Index series, the students of Computer Society were asked to make a report of an interview with an Engineer in the field of software. A total of 6 entries were collected from various students.
Codeathon was a 12 hour long coding contest organised as part of Women in computing on 14th April from 8am - 8pm. Questions were added each hour totalling to 9 questions. Merin Babu of 2nd year CSE secured the first position, followed by Sreelakshmi NS of 3rd year CSE at the second position and Irene Anna Kurien of 1st year CSE at the third position
The edition-2 of Code Colosseum, a 24 hour long coding competition was held on 28 March at 10am. The contest was hosted online on HacherRank with 35 participants. The contest had six questions and Bivin Varkey Varghese of third year CSE secured the first position followed by Arvind Ram of first year CSE at the second position and Shivani Sanjay of second year CSE at the third position.
The contest was hosted on HackerRank and there were 31 participants. The Edition - 1 of Code Colosseum had three questions and Sidarth Ajithkumar of 1st year CSE secured the first position, runner up Bivin Varkey Varghese of 3rd year CSE followed by Irene Anna Kurien.
A programming workshop was conducted by Computer Society SBC IEEE SB RIT for EC and EEE students on 15 th February 2020.This session was the 2nd one in the series of programming workshop planned for EC and EEE students. This workshop was taken by Mr. Vaisakh
